About Gerard

Gerard was born in Barcelona in 1984 and, after studying Telecommunications Engineering, decided to pursue his true passion: cinema. He trained at the International Film School Sydney, where he began to shape his voice as a filmmaker.
His main goal is to use film as a tool to spotlight social causes and raise awareness, especially around the LGBTQ+ community. Through his stories, he aims to highlight the struggles and challenges this community faces, and to promote justice and inclusion.

In 2025, Gerard received a Silver at the London International Awards for the campaign “Más que palabras” in the Best Direction category, a recognition that cemented his sensitive and socially engaged eye behind the camera.

With his short film “Qué verán los dragones en chicas como yo”, awarded at several international festivals, he was recognized for his inventiveness in reimagining the classic myths of dragons and princesses in a contemporary era, exploring with originality how the fantastic can reflect present-day dilemmas. He is currently writing his first feature film, a project that combines the intimate and the fantastical to further explore the boundaries between body, memory, and transformation.
